Milford Rotary’s help needed in Kenya

As a recent guest speaker, Rotarian Jay Dinkel passionately talked about EDUCATION For All Children – a program through which his family and the Milford Rotary Club have sponsored two students in Kenya. EFAC believes in empowerment through education and is much more than just a scholarship program. As noted on their website, “EFAC combines not only scholarships but mentoring and global connections so that EFAC scholars not only are educated, but have the highest potential to hold good jobs and to become the leadership of their generation in Kenya.”
Jay shared two outstanding letters from EFAC scholars Joshua Angwenyi and Harrison Mourubu.
Click here to read a letter from Harrison, a second-form (Sophomore) student at the Rongai School whom Milford Rotary has sponsored. Below is a photo of Harrison.
Click here to read a letter from Joshua, a fourth-form student that Toni and Jay have sponsored. He is also at Rongai, and about to graduate. In this letter, he summarized his four years at Rongai and what the opportunity has meant to him.
Jay asked for help from his fellow Milford Rotarians to maintain regular communication with these scholars, especially, Harrison. The students do not have regular internet access at the school but Jay has offered to forward any correspondence that members would like to share. The students greatly appreciate hearing from us. Please contact Jay Dinkel for more information.
