As we closed out 2021, our weekly speaker chairs brought us a variety of great talks, we sold out of Christmas trees in record breaking time, recognized more “Rotary Heros”, added another new member to our ranks, and had a wonderful Christmas Party and fun-filled Christmas Eve Eve Eve meeting with lots of shenanigans thanks to Mike Rasmussen and Professor Scollin!

Jim Minner invited George Rollend to visit as our Guest Speaker early in the month. George shared information and pictures about the Ponemah Bog Wildlife Sanctuary in Amherst.

President Paula bestowed some more “Hero Awards”!  On 12/8 she presented awards to our hard working Christmas Tree Committee Marc Lancaric, Peter Lyon, Patty McIntyre & Pete Basiliere. The committee was thrilled to announce that we sold our 700 Christmas Trees in 10 days!!! That was certainly a record-breaking tree season! We are all very grateful to our new customers and to our friends in the community who once again supported this annual fundraiser - it will help us help so many throughout 2022.

She also presented Hero Awards to Even Diane Shieh, May Balsama, Janet & Skip Spalding and Matt Curtin for staying extra late on Sunday night (12/5) to help break down the stands and clean everything up!

And to round out this very successful calendar year, we welcomed another new member to our Club - Rev. Craig Phillips, Ph.D.! Attorney Tom Quinn masterfully conducted the new member induction and Craig's wife Meta was also in attendance.

Rev. Craig jumped right in and was our “Guest Speaker” at the Club’s 12/15 meeting. He shared tales and photos from the great libraries in the world where he has had the privilege to do research - including the Vatican Library, the British Library, The Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Bodleian at Oxford, the Widener at Harvard, the Athenaeum in Philadelphia and numerous others.....IMPRESSIVE for sure! Thank you, Rev. Craig!
