Christopher Rogers presides over the 59th Installation of Officers of the Milford Rotary Club June 25, 2008.

Once again Chris Rogers did an outstanding job of inducting the new Milford Rotary officers for the 2008 - 2009 year.  He called on several past presidents, as is tradition, to induct the new regime.

Chris congratulated Marc Chareth for his outstanding service to the club and thanked him for his years of service, as he is completing his term on the board as Past President.  Chris also thanked Frank Manley, who was not present, for his service of two years as a Director, and said "we should all be grateful" to Frank.

The returning directors for a 2nd term - Julie Whitcomb, Ed Smith and Conrad Dionne - as well as the new directors - Ryan Hansen, Mark Bausha and Bob Suprenant, were inducted by Chris.

Mel Reever was charged with inducting the "blue collar" positions of Sargeant-at-Arms, Bill McNamara and Assistant Sargeant-at-Arms, Bill King.

Not to be outdone, Cy Thibault inducted the "green collar" positions of Treasurer, Paul Grummett and Assistant Treasurer, Janet Spalding.

Fitz Fitzgerald welcomed Jennifer Krause as Secretary, and Dave McBee as Assistant Secretary who are both returning for another term.

Betsey G. White had the honor of inducting Douglas A. Rupert (DAR) as the new Vice President.

And lastly, but not least, David G. Sturm was inducted as our new Club President by Chris.

Kudos were given to both Al Blastos and Allise de Smet for the outstanding jobs they had both done as President this past year.  Al for organizing the year, and Allise for stepping in and fulfilling the role of President.

Dave made a "haiku-free" speech that was thankful, thoughful and inspiring.  He invited the club not to be shy with ideas for new initiatives, or new ideas for doing those things we already do so well.  In closing, he reminded the club to ensure that the coming year is both fun and memorable, to be mindful that the "journey is the destination."

We look forward to another great year at the Milford Rotary Club under his leadership.
