Merrimack Rotary Concludes Successful 50th Rotary Year
MERRIMACK, NH - The Merrimack Rotary Club concluded its 50th year of service in the community earlier this month. The club didn’t miss a beat with its generous giving and continuous weekly meetings. Club President R. Brian Snow recently summarized the 2020-2021 Rotary year with a multitude of accomplishments.
“The club continuously gave to the community and hosted excellent program speakers,” said R. Brian Snow, Rotary Club of Merrimack President 2020/2021. “Rotarians are proud to give of their time to benefit others in the community and such service was recognized this year with the attainment of the Presidential Citation from Rotary International in honor of all our club has achieved.”
The club participated in, accomplished, and contributed to the following this past year:
· Achieved Club’s 2020-2021 Rotary Presidential Citation
· Adopt-a-Road Roadside Clean-up Project
· Hosted Merrimack BSA Troop #424 to sell Christmas Wreaths & Tree Pick-up
· First Time Usage of ATM/Credit Cards for Christmas Tree Sales via Wifi
· Contributed to Merrimack Lioness Operation Santa
· Contributed to La Gonave Haiti Mission for Christmas
· Contributed to 8 Christmas Trees for needy Merrimack Families
· Contributed 17 Coats for 7 needy Merrimack families
· Contributed to St. James Church Food Pantry
· Contributed IPAD electronic chargers to Rose Haven Nursing Home
· Contributed 8 Trees to St. Joseph’s Hospital “Drive Thru Santa” Event
· Contributed to St. John Neumann Food Pantry
· Contributed to Marge Chiafery Scholarship for deserving MHS faculty & staff
· Contributed in Scholarships to graduating MHS Students
· Contributed to Honduras Hurricane Relief Fund
· Received 50th Anniversary Commendation from Governor Chris Sununu

· Contributed to Gift of Sight Project together with Souhegan Valley Rotary Club & Rotary Club of Kakinada Golden Jubilee, India.
· Contributed to Wasserman Park Function Hall Sound Tile Project
· Contributed in gift cards to Merrimack’s top 10 scholars
· Recognized three 2020-2021 GSA G&WMC Young Women of Distinction
· Watson Park Pavilion Staining Project
The club continued to meet weekly via Zoom with 58 online meetings total. The meeting programs were conducted in the Rotary tradition including a guest speaker presentation. The speakers this year included:

Founded in 1971, the Rotary Club of Merrimack is a volunteer organization of business people and professionals supporting the community. Merrimack Rotary projects have included the Roger Duhamel Pavilion at Watson Park, scholarships, reconstruction of Kids' Kove Playground, scholarships, the Merrimack July Fourth festivities, the Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest, Interact Club, lighting at Reeds Ferry fields and more. The club works with other clubs on international projects like eradication of polio, Pure Water for the World, and hurricane relief in Honduras. Rotary Club of Merrimack also has an annual recognition of the three premiere Gold Award winners for the Green & White Mountain Council of the GSA and bestowing annual individual awards to the two Daniel Webster Council's best Scouts who earned the Eagle Scout of the Year & the Glenn & Melinda Adams Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year.
