Dear Martin,
This past summer, KILI Radio was able to add a second solar array to the roof of the
station’s studio located at Porcupine Butte. We have been committed at finding as much
renewable energy as possible to help us with our monthly electrical bill of close to
$2,500 a month.
The first commitment to a second array was made in the spring of 2014; we were
working with Lakota Solar and Henry Red Cloud. None of us realized that the plan for
that second array would take over a year to actually come together. Commitments from
Brattleboro Rotary Club, Lakota Solar and Trees,Water and People helped KILI Radio
complete the renewable energy project.
Once again, KILI Radio wants to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks
for the ongoing support that Brattleboro Rotary Club has provided the station over the
last several years – support has included assistance for our annual calendar, equipment
for our studio including mics and a new broadcast board, computers and now the solar
array. We can’t thank you enough.
We try to be there each day for our listeners across Pine Ridge Reservation and in Rapid City, we couldn’t do it without the help and assistance from individuals, groups and agencies from across the reservation and sometimes from a long ways away. I hope we are able to continue to work together..
Thank you very much; wopila tanka!
Respectfully,
Thomas Casey
KILI Radio station manager/development director
