MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
ROTARY CLUB OF BEDFORD, NH
A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Bedford, N.H., was held on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 at the New Hope Christian Fellowship at 292 Route 101
In attendance: Bob MacPherson, Charlie Fairman, Ron Pingel, Jerry Hanauer, Alan Heacock, Bill Gere, Larry White, Walter Gallo and Doug Horrocks.
Rick Blais from Queen City Rotary told us about a project they are doing in Ecuador with MCC, a local Rotary club and the Peace Corps to bring clean water to a small village. The total cost to build a reservoir, pipe water to the village and filter it is $30,000. They are looking for $1,000 each from 7 local clubs to finish their funding. We agreed to provide $1,000 to be paid in April or May.
Secretary
The minutes from the September meeting were approved. Membership was 39 with Mike Swinford resigning in September. Attendance was 69.6% for the month.
Treasurer
Both accounts are OK. We are starting to get some Idol advertising checks.
Idol Contest
Jerry will pass out assignments tomorrow for renewal ads and new prospects. He will also try to publish an article before the show.
Publicity
Bill has done a good job of getting speaker pictures and information in the papers.
Social
38 members and spouses are committed to the fall social so far
Membership
Charlie to talk to Bill Fleming, Fred Manheck and Tom Champagne tomorrow. Charlie or Melinde will follow up with prospect Melanie Vermette. We agreed to just reinstate Sunil if he wishes without going through a new-member process.
Contributions
We agreed to give $200 to Christiane Rothwangl’s team in the Breast Cancer walk.
Miscellaneous
Business cards are moving forward.
Bell ringing starts soon. This is our 48th year!
Bob is still pursuing the possibility of an evening meeting at Murphy’s
We need new flyer inserts. We agreed to buy 750 sets for $801.38
