The Life and Times of Gerry Greenway

Gerry joined our club in 2013 and was President in 2018 and 2019. He was born in Cornwall prior to the second world war and as a six year old can remember the bombing of the local shipyard.

Gerry's father was greengrocer but died when Gerry was 14. Gerry indicated that he was an average student but good at sport. On leaving school he joined the airforce to see further afield but was posted to a base only 40 miles from his home.
Gerry came to Australia as a "10 pound pom." Gerry worked in commercial real estate for 50 years.
He celebrated his 87th birthday in 2022.
For several years leading to 1969, he worked to get Apexians to walk around Australia for the Infant Sudden Death Program. It proved to be a very successful venture that raised a significant amount of money and significantly raised the profile of Apex in Australia.
Gerry provided numerous little hilarious anecdotes of events during his life. Once agian it was proven that in many cases members prove to be great guest speakers.
