Salvation Army Bell Ringing December 6th

We are scheduled to ring bells again for the Salvation Army on December 6^th in front of the Marion Hy-Vee.

10am to Noon	LaNisha Cassell and Patty Webster
Noon to 2pm	Nick Glew and Cindy Preussner
2pm to 4pm	Joe Lenz and Lisa Sparrow
4pm to 6pm	Mike Tiernan and Erik Miles
6pm to 8pm	Roger Flink and Tom Saluri

The process is that the kettle will be hanging on the stand, locked to the stand and in place.  Aprons with a bell in the pocket will be hanging on the stand. Jeff Selfridge is providing a piece of carpet for you to stand on to help keep your tootsies warm. Somebody from the Salvation Army will pick the kettle up after 8 pm.  The instructions we’ve received say, because it is locked to the stand you may leave even if no one has picked it.  During the day please don’t leave until the next ringer has reported for duty.  If they don’t show or if you have any other problems or questions during the day, call Don Zierath at 319-721-3190.

 

Don would especially like to congratulate the following members of the Marion Rotary club for meritorious recognition for ringing the bell and inviting customers of the Collins Road Hy Vee to contribute funds to the Salvation Army during temperatures in the 20's; Jill Olsen, Pat Quinn, Bob Mollman, Brian Doyle, Shaun Barry, Shawn DeVries, Jeff Selfridge, Paul Newman and Tom Padley.  In addition a sincere thank you should be extended to Hannah Selfridge from the Linn-Mar Interact Club.  

 

So you December "Ringers," if the weather is in the 20's or below you too will have meritorious recognition and if it is warmer, congratulations on selecting a balmy December day to help our community.
