We have confirmed with Vernon Middle School that we have secured the school cafeteria on Saturday May 21, 2022 for our Waffle Breakfast featuring Dad's Belgian Waffles!
For our newer members, this has been a staple fundraiser for MECR that has been very successful in past years. It is scheduled in conjunction to the Marion "Art in the Park" event that takes place uptown on the square, and all the great activities that go along with it.
We are fortunate to have the use of this fantastic facility, and cannot thank Janelle and MISD for allowing us to utilize it. Things that you won't want to miss at the Waffle Breakfast; bucket o' coffee, world famous tang, Waffle Eating Contest, Mr. Sausage, Captain Pancake (or Senator Flapjack, depending on your geography), and a cast of thousands!
So.....this is a reminder for this upcoming event. In the near future we will have signups for Friday night May 20, 2022 to set up. Then for Saturday May 21, shifts available to unload Dad's van at 5:45 am to noon to tear down, and everything in between.
Also, please be thinking about Silent Auction items. We like to have each member provide one for the Silent Auction if possible. A large portion of the net proceeds are driven from the sale of the auction items, and this year in particular, we need to raise some money for MECR's philanthropic efforts. The last two years have been tough on all non-profits, fundraising wise, and MECR is no exception.
But, we are the little club that does big things, so there is no worry, just some hard work.
Thanks for all your support and commitment to MECR! I truly believe MECR moves the needle in a positive way, not only in Marion, but in the greater CR metro plex.
