"this program has been a huge help to our families"
Update from Nancy Alderdyce, RN Marion District Nurse:
We received 100 cards that have been dispersed throughout the district to nurses offices and counselors. We have given out cards to replace shoes that have had holes, too small, too big, etc. I know of one case that the boy did not have boots and I actually used two cards to be able to purchase boots for his size. I am finding that we sometimes have to use 2 cards to be able to get the bigger sizes for kids now.
We will be using more cards as spring comes around. We had a person from HACAP that attended our registration last fall to help families sign-up for insurance/assistance. I would like to tie these in with her at our next registration. She helped several families sign-up for Title 19, etc. from our registration. She has also attended our kindergarten roundups and is a huge asset to our families.
Please tell the Rotary that this program has been a huge help to our families. The best part of this program is the need of the student can be met immediately, which is not the case with other programs that help. Thanks!
