Float Preparation
The Cedar Rapids-Marion Evening Rotary and the Rotary Club of Marion-East Cedar Rapids will join forces on Wednesday, September 27th for fun and fellowship. The evening project will be to prepare the Shoes for Kids Truck for the Swamp Fox Festival Parade. Everyone is invited to meet from 5-7 p.m. at Tom Barnes’ garage located behind his home at 920 Williams Drive in Marion. Tom will have pizza and beverages so please let him know if you are coming.
The Parade Itself
Rotarians are needed on Saturday, September 30th to walk in Marion’s Swamp Fox Festival Parade with our Shoes for Kids Truck. This is a great way to celebrate community and build awareness for Rotary and our Shoes for Kids program. You also get to hand out candy and make people happy! Meet at the Marion High School parking lot at 9:30 a.m. Our parade slot is #43. The parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Please keep in mind that the large high school parking lot is for parade entries only so you will have to find parking in another lot or on a side street. Remember to wear a Rotary shirt, if you have one.
