Rotarian Visit Day is scheduled for Thursday, July 18th. Come check out all of the incredible things happening at Iowa RYLA!
You can find the schedule for the day below! Our visit day will be held from 8:15AM to 3:00PM. You are welcome to attend the entire event, or come and go as you need. The theme for the day is Community Leadership.
Morning Kickoff (8:15AM)
RYLA Alumni Panel (8:30AM)
We have 3 RYLA alumni in different stages of their careers and lives that will serve as our panel guests. Ella Newell attended RYLA in 2012 in the early years of Iowa RYLA (held at Wartburg at the time!). Mitch Winterlin is a student at the University of Iowa and recently served as the Student Body President. Jeremiah Collins served as a Head Counselor and is currently studying Psychology at the University of California Berkeley. We are excited to hear from our alumni and all of their great accomplishments!
Team Lead Word of Focus Speech (9:15AM)
A Word of Focus (WoF) is a reflective message centered around a singular word that relates to the theme of the day.
Team Time Activities (9:30AM - 11:45AM)
You will have the opportunity to be paired with a team to observe (and possibly participate, if interested!) in several team building activities.

Team Lead Word of Focus (12:45PM)
Team Time Activity (1:00PM - 2:00PM)
Visiting Rotarian Q&A Session (2:00PM - 3:00PM)
Back by popular demand! You will have an opportunity to debrief the day and ask questions about all things RYLA!
New to Iowa RYLA this year, we will be implementing our "RYLA Shark Tank" project. Combining elements from the hit TV shows "Shark Tank" and "The Amazing Race," teams will be working together to create a service project that addresses one of Rotary's 7 Areas of Focus. During your visit, you will be able to sit in on 5 service project pitches. These service project ideas will also be available for Rotary clubs to explore and consider using in their clubs!
If you plan to visit, please send an email to (zfisher@tctrojans.org) with the name of your club, the number of Rotarians in your party, and your planned arrival time by Tuesday, July 9th. Upon your arrival at the Harris Center on campus, we will have someone waiting to greet you. During your visit, we will match you up with a team to make the most of your time.
Come witness the "RYLA magic" in person!
Thank you,
Zachary Fisher, 2024 Iowa RYLA Conference Chair
