"This is a fabulous first time event. Just shining the light on hunger in our community and the need to help nourish the most in our neighborhoods is tremendous! Every pound of food helps in the fight against hunger. Each year we distribute over 6.3 million of food to our 126 fantastic partner agencies – this is not possible without community supporters such as the Rotary!” shared Linda Gorkow, of HACAP Food Reservoir Director. “Thank you to everyone who made this possible and for all their generosity! You all are truly The Hunger Heroes!!!!”
"Always great when we all come together to help others, this is what Rotary is all about. Service above Self. What a great first year and we look forward to continuing this challenge for years to come.” Sarah Hughes, Marion-East Cedar Rapids Club President. On being the Metro winners, Hughes shared, “No matter who takes the trophy from the challenge home, the true winners are the underserved and hungry who live right here in our community. Together we can help fight hunger.”
