I wanted to thank everyone that attended the MECR New Member Orientation last night. We had a great turnout of our newest members (and kids and spouses)! We also had a great turnout of MECR regulars and we all enjoyed snacks from LJ's and drinks from ICCC.
Special thanks to Cindy Shipley for arranging the delicious food, Erik for his AV Interweb guru expertise, and Bob from ICCC who kept us hydrated.
It was a great opportunity for fellowship and to learn bout Rotary!
It was agreed that we need to have more social events, so I am going to get with Sarah Hughes to see about a night at a CR Roughriders hockey game. I know not everyone is into that particular sport, but the action is fast, the entertainment part is cool, and we might get to see a good fight (bonus). More info to come.
Thanks again to all who attended. It was great that everyone there added to the conversation and presentation. Not as much heckling as I thought there would be, but Barb Randall was not present, and she's really good at that part.
Next Tuesday, 11-2-2021, we will have Heather Croskrey from Ronald McDonald House as our speaker. Many of our Rotary family have connections with Ronald McDonald House so it will be another great presentation, with a couple very special guests.
