We had another varied and interesting speaker at the meeting yesterday (Sept. 14) and had great attendance. I personally love ribs, but we needed Dr. Joe to set up a flossing station after that meal. We even got to induct a new member, Megan Crawford, with a special surprise. It is nice to see a prospective member (Becky Eckley) and visitors Barb, Maddie, and Rod.
Next week (Sept. 21) we will have Laura Campbell, Executive Director of Marion Cares as our program. We have had a great relationship with Marion Cares over the years so it will be great to catch and see what's going on that fine organization.
Don't forget to sign up for the Golf Outing coming up on Thursday Sept. 30th, send your info to Cindy Shipley so she can make sure the teams are organized. Bob Butschi had a sign up for this at yesterday's meeting and we are going to have a nice group of Rotarians, prospective members, and friends attending. Also, if you want to sponsor a hole let Cindy know as well and we will get your sign made for your hole. The meeting on Sept. 28 is cancelled in lieu of the golf outing. If you wish just to enjoy a meal, we should be done around 5:30, it will just be $10.00 (for guests and Alternative dues members).
October 16 there is an All-Metro Club service event at Cedar Lake and Bob also had a sign up for this event as well. You can let Bob know you wish to participate or go to the CR Downtown Rotary Club's website to sign up directly. This event is being led by the BIG Club, Linn County (not just the city clubs) so thanks to them for handling this service project. See our website for all the particulars.
