District Governor Neil Fell at August 14 Meeting

District Governor Neil Fell will be visited our Club on Tuesday, August 14 as he meets with clubs all over District 5970. He brought his thoughts about Rotary and goals for this Rotary Year especially reminding many and informing members about the history of Rotary. Following is a message from District Governor Neil.

Greetings,

Each year the incoming President of Rotary International selects a theme to guide the 1,200,000 plus Rotarian's in 35,000 plus local Clubs, located in over 180 countries throughout the world.

This year, incoming Rotary International President Barry Rassin, selected “Be the Inspiration” as our Rotary Theme. What an appropriate choice!

This group of past and present people, called Rotary, has inspired their communities and the world since its start in 1905 by our founder, Paul Harris, a University of Iowa Law School graduate. We have inspired the world to take on the challenge of eradicating polio, preventing disease & treatment, improving water & sanitation in developing countries...the list goes on and on.

We have inspired and bettered our communities through all of our volunteer service projects and living up to the ethical standards of the 4-Way Test.

Most importantly….we inspire each other.  Thanks to all of you for the inspiration you provide and giving me the opportunity to help support, strengthen and maybe even inspire the Clubs of District 5970.
