MECR (the little club that does BIG things) has added some new members in the last few months, so we need to make sure that we take the time to properly on-board them and explain what Rotary is all about.

One thing we most definitely are about is fun. We had a BIG time at our 3rd Annual Golf Outing this past Thursday, I believe Cindy Shipley will send out some pictures showing the festivities and FUN we had.  It would appear the golfers and non-golfers (I am the latter) enjoyed a fun time on the links at Indian Creek Country Club.  Thanks to Chester, Bob, and his staff for having the course and food after in great shape!

At our most recent presidents' ZOOM meeting, DG Hassman had a discussion about membership and membership engagement.  One important thing we can miss is letting our new members know the history, the world changing influence, and how big Rotary International truly is.  The members who have been around most likely know this, but what a great excuse to get together and talk about this fantastic organization we belong to.

So, everyone is invited to what the "old boys" called a fireside which will be Thursday October 28, 2021 from 5:15 to 6:15.  Social time until 5:30, then a program until 6:00, then a little post meeting social.  Location is Indian Creek Country Club, Marion, Iowa.

Significant others and kids are also invited.  We will have cold drinks (adult and soft) and snacks for your enjoyment.  It will be informal and interactive, but important to make sure we don't take for granted the storied history of MECR and Rotary International.

Please RSVP by Monday 10-25-21 ( by noon) so we have appropriate space, food, and beverage.  I am going to also send this invite to the perspective members that have joined us over the last couple of months.  That way they have the opportunity to learn more and help them decide to join MECR (hopefully).

Note-we WILL have our regular meeting Tuesday 10-26-21 in case you wondered.

Thank you for your support!
