For 20+ years the Marion Independent School District has participated in the Holiday Giving Project helping residents in our community with financial struggles to help provide a Christmas to their families. Over the last two years, Marion Independent has helped adopt over 140 families covering more almost 600 individuals in each of those years.
Marion East-CR Rotary Club has been a valuable partner in this quest by continually increasing the amount of families that we supported, helping to adopt 10 families covering approximately 40 individuals in our community last Holiday Season. There are more families than ever to help; this email is to gather information on how much we can offer as a club.

As a club we budget $500 toward this project, anything additional comes directly from our members. We can help in 3 ways.
1)      Financial donation
a.   We are budgeting approximately $50 for each individual that we adopt. The clubs budget covers 10 children. Would you like to help increase our ability to adopt?
2)       Donate your time
a.      Shop for gifts for children using the funds we have raised as a club.
b.     Volunteer to help wrap gifts at 5 PM on December 18th at Indian Creek Country Club. The bar will be open so take advantage of this fellowship opportunity.
c.     We will be delivering gifts purchased during school days on December 19th 20th and 21st.
3)      Spread the word
a.       Last year UICCU and State Farm adopted family's with the help of Sarah Hughes and Shawn DeVries. Kudo’s for this effort, maybe more employers in the area would like to help with the cause.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP FINANCIALLY, OR IF YOUR BUSINESS WOULD LIKE TO HELP, please let me know within the next two weeks as this will help us communicate to Marion Independent School District how many individuals that we can adopt.
I'm very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of such an important project in our community. Any help you can provide is much appreciated not only by our group but especially by the families who are impacted as a result. Feel free to send any questions or concerns my direction as the project gets underway. Happy Holidays!
