Cedar Rapids Daybreak Rotary is renewing a community-wide, family-friendly, affordable, fun and unique event designed to benefit Eastern Iowa organizations that focus on helping children and families. The third annual “Great Eastern Iowa Duck Race”, patterned after a successful duck race held in Cedar Rapids during the 1990’s, will benefit Four Oaks, and the Boys and Girls Club.

All four organizations focus on educating children and teaching the values of citizenship, character, healthy lifestyle, work ethic, having fun and service to others. Four Oaks and the Boys and Girls Club, which provide services across Eastern Iowa, suffered severe damage from the epic floods of 2008. Daybreak Rotary’s mission is to leverage the Cedar River to make a lasting, positive impact on a rotating group of organizations each year that focus on helping children and families.
