The MECR Rotary Club is often imitated but never duplicated, the District leadership has taken our idea and expanded it similarly to all our fellow Rotarians in the District.
District 5970 “Rotary Rush” is on again! For the months of February and March 2020, the District is offering a significant incentive to all Rotarians who give to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund.
A generous Rotarian Donor has offered their points as an incentive to help Rotarians easily reach their first or multiple Paul Harris Fellow level. The Donor is offering a 1 for 1 points to dollars match if a Rotarian contributes a minimum of $100 cash toward their first or next Paul Harris Fellow level. For example, you may have accumulated $500 in contributions to The Rotary Foundation. Then, if you add $250 in cash in February or March, our Donor will match 250 points to your giving account which allows you to receive your first or multiple PHF award. The match is up to a maximum of 500 points.
This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your dollars and get closer to your first or next Paul Harris! Also, this in in addition to the POINTS BONUS that MECR has in place through the 2020 Rotary Year, ending June 30, 2020. So this is like a TRIPLE dip that we should really do our best to take advantage of. The Rotary Foundation is the BEST Foundation in the world, and it has the best rating possible from Charity Navigator. The money goes where it supposed to unlike some other organizations.
I will have your Paul Harris giving summary at our next meeting and all meetings going forward. I need to keep this with me as it is confidential and we would not want it to fall into the wrong hands (Optimists or Lions are our arch enemies for this sort of thing).
I will gladly take your check and do all the appropriate paperwork required to make sure all the I's are crossed and the T's dotted for your Points Bonuses. I can also answer any questions you may have about this as your Foundation Chair (if I don't know we will find out).
