The Rotary Club of Flamborough AM was chartered April 2000 and has been serving our community ever since. The Club initially met at the Waterdown Legion before moving to the Pause-a-While restaurant for a number of years.  Upon the closing of the Pause-a-While, the club moved briefly to the Flamborough YMCA and then to The Dutch Mill restaurant and Tea at the White House before our current site of Symposium restaurant.

 

While Flamborough AM Rotary is a relatively small club we have made significant contributions to our community and the world in general through our projects and giving.

Ribfest is our largest community fundraising program launched in 2010 in partnership with the Waterdown Rotary Club.

 

The funds raised during the Rotary year are held and then distributed in the following year to ensure we can financially meet any commitments that we make.  Our Club designates a budget for each of the major avenues of service that we support and committees determine how the funds are spent within their area (subject to certain criteria).

 

Club administrative expenses come directly from membership fees and no fundraising money is used by the club in anyway.  A portion of each year’s membership fees goes as a donation to the Rotary Foundation ($100USD) which makes us both a Sustaining Club and a Every Rotarian Every Year Club, there are only a few thousand clubs around the world that receive this recognition.
