Introduction of guests & visiting Rotarians was done by Rich Stewart.
We did not have any visitors or visiting Rotarians.
 
I want to thank the greeters Roy Valdez & Christina Ahn & Michelle Cekov for taking attendance.
 
Midge Stork announced that our opportunity drawing prize was a $50 gift card to Trader Joe's generously donated by Tom Swan.
 
John Borneman led us in a song.

Presidents announcements:
  • August 9th Peace, Love & Understanding Exhibition – Through August 21st. 4 Floor at the Government Center from 8 - 5.
  • Ventura Chamber Taste Event August 30th. We need to sell a minimum of 40 tickets at $25/ticket. That’s $15 off the member price. We will in turn be given a “Gold” level sponsorship with all the benefits that go with it.
  • District Conference October 5 – 6 
  • RI $96.5 million in grants to end polio. Afghanistan $22.9 mil, Pakistan $21.7 Mil and Nigeria $16.1 mil.
    • Nigeria 2 years without a new case of wild poliovirus.
    • Afghanistan 10 cases this year
    • Pakistan 3 cases this year
    • 12 other African countries have been awarded some of this money to keep polio out.
  • Nightmare on the Hill October 20th
Avenues of Service:
 
Kris Hansen spoke about Interact at Buena High School. We are getting ready for another school year and will need 2 - 3 advisors to help lead this group.
