As Santa Barbara's first Economic Development Manager, Jason Harris developed and is charged with implementing an economic development plan to strengthen the local economy and enhancing downtown vibrancy. Key strategies of these efforts involve support of Santa Barbara businesses, cultivate a business-friendly City government and enhancing downtown as a regional hub of retail, entertainment, art and culture, higher education and business. He brings extensive economic development experience and has served as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Santa Monica, CA and as Deputy Economic Director for the City of Phoenix, AZ. Jason holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business administration.
