Glenn Pomeroy, CEO of the California Earthquake Authority, will speak to the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise about the region’s risk for earthquake damage, and dramatic changes the CEA has made to the earthquake insurance it provides. Attendees will learn about how CEA has lowered its rates and rolled out a wide range of coverage and deductible options, new insurance premium discounts, financial incentives to help retrofit older homes, and the risk for an earthquake in your area. The CEA is a non-profit provider of earthquake insurance for homeowners, condo owners, mobile home owners and renters, and is the largest writer of earthquake insurance in the United States.

Glenn Pomeroy has been the CEO of the not-for-profit CEA—the largest earthquake insurance provider in the United States, and one of the largest in the world—since 2008. Glenn is originally from North Dakota, where he previously served his native state as a member of the state legislature (he was first elected at age 22), county prosecutor and North Dakota Insurance Commissioner. He was selected by his peers from around the country to serve as President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He later worked in the private reinsurance industry in Kansas City. As part of CEA's strategic plan to Educate, Mitigate and Insure, Glenn has been crisscrossing the state to spread the news about the new, affordable options now available from CEA.
