Community Service
 
Community Service encourages every Rotarian to find ways to improve the quality of life for people in their communities and to serve the public interest. The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise is active with Community Service projects such as:
  • Funding critical dental procedures to the city's neediest individuals, provided by the Eastside Family Dental Clinic
  • Providing every 3rd grade student in the Santa Barbara Unified School District a dictionary, sometimes the first dictionary the student can call his own
  • Raising funds to provide essential care for our Santa Barbara residents through the Salvation Army Red Kettle Holiday Program
  • Sponsoring, constructing, and decorating a float in the Old Spanish Days Fiesta Parade
  • Donating food and funds for a pallet jack for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara
  • Assisting with the move of the new Children's Library at the Santa Barbara Public Library
  • Making improvements at the Boys and Girls Club Camp Whittier
  • Maintaining the landscape and picnic area for thousands to enjoy at the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise Centennial Picnic Area at Elings Park
International Service
 
International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more. We are active with International Service projects such as:
  • Health Centers in Nicaragua
  • Water Filters to 525 families in Nicaragua. To learn more about the water filter project in Nicaragua click here.
  • Pharmacy in Nicaragua
  • School Library in Nicaragua
  • Wheelchairs to Mexico, India, Bangladesh, Brazil
  • Clean Water Project in Thailand
  • Cataract Clinics in Mexico
  • Ciudad de los Ninos Orphanage in Mexico
  • Medical Supplies for Clinic in Zambia
  • Polio National Immunization Days (NID)
Youth Service
 
Youth Service recognizes the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs. Our efforts in the area of Youth Service include:
  • Honoring outstanding efforts through our Student of the Month Awards for at-risk youth at La Cuesta Continuation High School
  • Sponsoring the Interact Club of Bishop Diego High School
  • Jointly sponsoring the Rotaract Club of Santa Barbara
  • Providing scholarships for high school students expand their leadership skills at the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) held in Ojai
  • Sponsoring an outgoing and hosting an incoming international student as part of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program
Vocational Service
 
Vocational Service calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society. Our Vocational service projects have included:
  • Emancipated foster youth mentorship program
  • Mock interviews with high school students
  • Guardian Scholars program
  • Vocational Service Award
  • Service Above Self essay contest
  • Vocational mixers

We meet for the BEST BREAKFAST IN SANTA BARBARA on Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m. at the historic Santa Barbara Club located at 1105 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara, California, USA. If you have an interest in any of these activities please contact us regarding future participation.
