Upcoming Naloxone Training
Overdose deaths are continuing to rise in our community. The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise and Rotary Action Group Addiction Prevention North America, in collaboration with Hikma Pharmaceuticals, are taking the lead and will be training community citizens for free on the administration of Kloxxado, a new stronger Naloxone that lasts longer, works faster and is more effective in reversing overdose and saving lives. It is considered a life-saving drug. Attendees receive a free kit ($49 value). Our goal is to get 20% of our population trained in order to make a significant impact.
The first session to train the trainers will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 6pm at Unity Shoppe, 110 West Sola Street, Santa Barbara. Registration closes June 9.
The trainers will begin training members of the community beginning August 6, 2024 at 6 pm at Unity Shoppe, and then monthly.
