CAMP WHITTIER WORK DAY

Saturday, February 25, 2017

In October and November, Sunrisers patched, primed, and applied a new surface coat to the sports court and prepared for installing new basketball goals. This coming work day we plan to apply another coat to the surface, paint lines on the sports court, and install new basketball goals.

Campers at this United Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara County resident camp will enjoy the sports court for recreation such as basketball, tennis, badminton, four-square, and other games.

Contact Tom Heath if you can volunteer a full day, half day, or a few hours.

DID YOU KNOW?

From stamp collecting to ballroom dancing, the hobbies of Rotarians are as diverse as the membership itself. Yet, among the more than one million Rotarians worldwide, an amateur-radio enthusiast or a chess player is bound to find others who share the same passions. But Rotary Fellowship members share more than just their common interest in sport diving or Esperanto; they share an interest in fellowship and service and in promoting world understanding. As such, it's no wonder that the International Skiing Fellowship of Rotarians donates the profits from ski events to The Rotary Foundation or that the Flying Rotarians help ferry medical personnel and supplies.

This is one of a series of short articles about Rotary written by Cliff Dochterman, PRIP, and originally published in the Rotary publication, The ABCs of Rotary.

ROTARY PIN CHALLENGE - Week 33

Rotary is successful in part by an army of worker bees carrying out the Object of Rotary in our lives, community, and world. Club members buzz with activity coordinating new projects, planning interesting programs, and organizing engaging social activities. Our club is swarming with worker bees!

I have challenged myself to wear my Rotary pin EVERY day. By doing this I hope to raise awareness of Rotary and Rotary's work. I invite all Sunrise Rotarians to join me in wearing a Rotary pin EVERY day.
