Scott Burns provides training on how to administer naloxone, a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose.
Education and community action can make a difference in the fight against opioid overdoses. The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise is working to equip more people with the knowledge and tools they need to recognize an opioid overdose and respond effectively.
Scott Burns, a member of Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise and California Director for the Rotary Action Group Addiction Prevention (RAG-AP), recently led overdose prevention trainings for the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North and the Rotary Club of Moreno Valley. Through these presentations, Scott is helping fellow Rotarians learn how they can play a role in addressing the opioid crisis and protecting lives in their communities.
