80 students from Washington Elementary School participate in Rotary-funded field trip.
The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise was proud to support Explore Ecology with a grant that helped fund an unforgettable educational field trip aboard the Condor Express for 80 students from Washington Elementary School.
The excursion was the exciting culmination of a hands-on learning program that began in the classroom and continued out on the water. During the voyage, participants observed a remarkable variety of marine wildlife, including seabirds, sea lions, seals, common dolphins, and even two humpback whales.
Club members joined the trip as chaperones while students deepened their understanding of marine science and environmental stewardship of the Santa Barbara Channel.
