New subcommittee is being formed for addiction prevention programs in Santa Barbara.
The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise has entered into an agreement to participate with Rotary Action Group (RAG) Addiction Prevention North America Chapter Project SMART, which includes:
School Education Program: School program, educating children about the dangers of addiction, prescription drug disposal, protecting the drinking water.
Medicine and Drug Disposal: Making every day drug disposal through in-home SAFE drug disposal.
Awareness of OUD (Opioid Use Disorder) deaths: Providing, communities with Naloxone training to save lives, OUD screening tools.
Recovery: Support services, social recreational recovery infrastructure, and social media resources, database of organizations in the local community recovery process that provide real-time data.
Treatment though MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment): Medication and behavioral therapies in your local community to include a local database.
