Joanne Schoenfeld honored Rich Block with a Paul Harris Fellow.
The Paul Harris Fellowship is one of the most prestigious awards in Rotary and thereby named after the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris, who founded Rotary 119 years ago. The Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 to express appreciation and recognition for a contribution to the Rotary Foundation. A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who contributes $1,000 or in whose name that amount is contributed, recognizing him or her for extraordinary services rendered.
Joanne Schoenfeld recognized Rich Block with a Paul Harris Fellow for his significant contributions to the Santa Barbara community. Joanne stated, “On behalf of the giraffes, lions, tiger and kangaroos, I felt Rich Block needed this acknowledgement as a Paul Harris fellow. Rich has been the director of the Santa Barbara Zoo for 30 years. During that time, he helped build it into a world class institution that we are able to enjoy today.”
In recognition of Rich’s efforts, Joanne made a contribution of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation in his name.We congratulate and thank both Rich and Joanne for their service and generosity!
