Dear Sunrisers!
Happy Fall! It is certainly hard to believe it’s October! My how time flies when Rotarians are having fun… and making an impact in the community and the world!
I hope that each of you were just as proud and inspired as I was by the September 21st program by the Santa Barbara Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation Board and International and past Community Service Directors. Our Club’s accomplishments are so impressive. Wow! Remember . . . “You helped make that happen!”
With fall comes our Annual Giving Campaign. I encourage you to fill out the “Every Sunrise Rotarian, Every Year” Pledge Form that you received at the last meeting and return it to Jody Dolan Holehouse in the next couple weeks. Please be as generous as you can. Our goal is 100% participation with everyone giving to the level at which they are comfortable. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
In just the first three months of the 2022-2023 year, we’ve held a successful fundraiser, the Dolphin Dive, and now we are busy preparing for our online auction. I hope that each of you will come up with at least one great auction prize to contribute! Give me a call if you need any ideas or need help wrapping a gift basket. Monies raised from our fundraisers help fund all the amazing projects we’d like to do.
Our Club Committees are busy planning and implementing projects in our community and our world. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend a committee meeting or participate in a service opportunity, I encourage you to sign up. This is where the real work of Rotary happens!
Speaking of Committees . . . thanks to our Club Service Committee for keeping our meetings running smoothly. Attendance is up! Kudos to the Membership Committee; we’re hosting a great number of guests each week! Also, welcome to our newest members!
Thanks to our Social Committee for planning a number of fun happy hour events, and thanks to those members who have joined me on my “Picnic with the President” lunches. It’s been fun!
We’ve got lots more opportunities for fun, fellowship and service in the coming months! Come on out and join your Rotary friends . . . and bring a friend!
