It's hard to believe it’s already November! With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I've been thinking about how much I have to be thankful for, and my Santa Barbara Sunrise Rotary family is certainly high on that list.
One of the things I appreciate most about our club is how willing people are to step up. Everyone has busy lives, yet when something needs to get done, people find the time. I actually started making a list of all the ways members have pitched in over the month, but there were so many examples I couldn't keep track of them all! And that says a lot about this club. Whether it's a big commitment or a small gesture, it all makes a difference, and I hope you know how much it's appreciated.
Our upcoming November 9–18 Online Auction is a perfect example. So many members have contributed their time, connections, creativity, and resources to make this happen. We've received some truly incredible donations from local businesses and friends of Rotary, and I've been blown away by the generosity. The variety and thoughtfulness of the auction items are a testament to the relationships we've built in our community and the willingness of others to support what we do. We should all be very proud of what we've put together!
Now comes the fun part, and we need everyone's help!
Please help us spread the word and encourage everyone to bid generously! Watch for an email you can easily forward to friends and family, join and share our Facebook event ( https://www.facebook.com/
What I love about this auction is that everyone wins in some way. Our donors get to showcase their businesses, bidders take home something special, and the people and organizations we support benefit from the proceeds. That's a pretty wonderful way to kick off the season of giving!
As we head into Thanksgiving, I also hope we take a moment to appreciate the friendships we've made through Rotary. Yes, we're here to serve, but we're also here to enjoy each other's company, laugh together, and make some great memories along the way. I’m reminded of that every time I gather with fellow Sunrise club members.
That's what Powered by Purpose & Joy means to me.
Thank you for everything you do, for our club, for our community, and for each other. I'm grateful to be sharing this Rotary year with all of you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Angelique
