The peace pole is designed to inspire unity, reflection, and a shared commitment to peace.
The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise installed two more Peace Poles at Peabody Charter and Vieja Valley Elementary Schools. As part of Rotary District 5240’s Peacebuilder initiative, we are dedicated to addressing the root causes of conflict, such as poverty, inequality, lack of access to education, and limited economic opportunity, through meaningful service and community engagement.
By placing Peace Poles at nine elementary school campuses throughout Santa Barbara, we hope to inspire students, staff, and families to think about the role each of us plays in creating a more peaceful and inclusive world.
