August reflections and looking ahead to more "service above self" in September.
Dear fellow Sunrisers,
August really brought home to me how wonderfully active our club is, and how much of a positive impact we have on lives, both in our community and abroad.
There are students who have just started their school year at Cleveland Elementary with new clothes and supplies that will enhance their experience tremendously.
We have shared fellowship with our sister club from Celaya Mexico during Fiesta here in Santa Barbara.
We have visited our other sister club in Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua, and seen the great impacts our club has had over the past dozen years.
These impacts have been on the medical clinic, rural school, and water company - things that have truly transformed lives there.
I appreciated the time we spent helping their special eye clinic day and making house calls with medical staff, and the meetings we had with community members.
Thanks to all of you for the parts you have played in these activities and many others.
I look forward to a super September with another calendar full of fun and "service above self".
