New kitchen equipment for Los Volcanes Community Center in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The International Service Committee funded a mixer and a refrigerator for the Los Volcanes Community Center Kitchen Project in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Both have been installed in the kitchen and are being used for cooking classes and mothers preparing meals for the kids.
Because Puerto Vallarta is hot and humid most of the year, the fridge allows the food to stay fresh longer and the mothers do not have to go shopping every day. Eating fresh, healthy meals has improved the children's health and school performance. The Los Volcanes Community Center provides education and resources to low-income students.
