2026 offers many opportunities to connect, serve, and make a meaningful difference together.
As we begin a new year, board members and committee chairs shared what they are most looking forward to in 2026. Their reflections highlight both the impact of Rotary and the spirit that brings our club together.
"We started the Rotary year with each of you writing a postcard to your future self about how you would 'impress yourself.' Your postcards are in the mail, and I hope they inspire you to keep building on all you've given. The Rise Against Hunger event was a highlight for me this year. There was a buzz of energy in that auditorium from nearly 100 Rotarians from around our region who just wanted to take action to help others."
—Liz, President
“Our membership committee is excited to have added great new Sunrisers in 2025—and looking forward to growing again in 2026. Remember—ALL Sunrise Rotarians are part of the membership committee. Hoping each one will invite a good friend to attend a breakfast and event to learn more about the fun, friendship, and good work of being a Rotarian. If they try it, they’ll like it!”
—Kirk, Membership Director
“There are so many things to look forward to, and to feel optimistic about. We have a fabulous club with many dedicated and idealistic colleagues to plan and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Standing on a corner and ringing the bell for the Salvation Army brought out a sense of hope and appreciation of the kindness that is in all of us. Perhaps, the thing I most look forward to is the smiling faces of the folks we have helped and delegated funds to help improve their lives.”
—Ron, Community Service Co-Director
“In 2026, I’m really looking forward to the growth that comes with president-elect training and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the Rotary International Convention in Taipei! Even more, as I prepare to step into the presidency in July, I’m deeply grateful for the chance to serve alongside club members that continually inspire me with their dedication, generosity, and commitment to Service Above Self. It is both a privilege and an honor to share this journey with such an incredible group of people.”
—Angelique, President Elect
“While it’s not a new Rotary year, it is a new calendar year . . . and that makes me happy. I love the optimism of a brand-new calendar. A new year is a time for both hope and possibility, and I’m looking forward to seeing how our club continues to serve, connect, and grow in 2026.”
—Karen, Communications Chair
“Even after thirty six years I find Sunrise Rotary meetings interesting, informative and inspirational. Keep up the good work. Love the club.”
—Bill, Club Photographer/Historian
“PeaceBuilders Pledge: I pledge to praise people; to give up put-downs; to seek wise people (as advisors and friends); to notice and speak up about hurts I have caused; to right wrongs; and to help others.”
—Gary, Peacebuilders Committee Chair
“As ISC chair, my dream is to have a committee trip to visit one of the projects we have funded, or may fund. As for the Social committee, I'm looking forward to extensive researching of potential Happy Hour spots with my fellow members!”
—Marjorie, International Service Committee Director
