President Judith McCaffrey honors John Palminteri with a Paul Harris Fellow.

The Paul Harris Fellowship is one of the most prestigious awards in Rotary and thereby named after the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris, who founded Rotary 117 years ago. The Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 to express appreciation and recognition for a contribution to the Rotary Foundation. A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who contributes $1,000 or in whose name that amount is contributed, recognizing him or her for extraordinary services rendered.

President Judith McCaffrey recognized John Palminteri with a Paul Harris Fellow for his significant contributions to the Santa Barbara community. When he is not reporting on Santa Barbara’s most notable news as well the everyday stories as Senior News Reporter for KEYT Channel 3-12, he gives tremendous support and time to local nonprofits. Judith stated, “John is a community treasure . . . a person who has given many years of dedicated service to the community. He helps make Santa Barbara a special place to live."

In recognition of John’s efforts, Judith made a contribution of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation in his name. Judith continues, “I am honored to present you with a Paul Harris pin, certificate and medal. The symbolism in this recognition is to say thank you for making a difference in our community. By accepting this pin you will join a family of well over 950,000 Paul Harris Fellows worldwide.”

We congratulate and thank both John and Judith for their service and generosity!
