Earthwise Education Program composter delivered to Monroe School.
The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise delivered the first compost unit to Monroe Elementary School in Santa Barbara with two more to other locations. The program, supported by a Rotary 5240 District grant, focuses on reducing food waste and enhancing school gardens through the provision of 40 rapid composters and biochar in 38 schools in 8 school districts spanning all four counties of Rotary District 5240.
The Earthwise Education Program, launched in September 2024, marks a transformative collaboration between Jeden Bioscience and Rotary District 5240, including significant contributions from the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise. This initiative is dedicated to instilling robust environmental stewardship among K-12 students throughout our region, aiming to inspire and educate them to become proactive environmental advocates.
