Luz Maria Ortiz and Los Volcanes student Oswaldo.
The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of students at the Volcanes Education Program in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Through the club’s scholarship support and individual contributions from Luz Maria Ortiz and E Russell Smith, students are given the opportunity to continue their education beyond high school and pursue higher learning.
During a recent visit to the Volcanes School, Luz Maria met with Oswaldo, one of the scholarship recipients. He shared his heartfelt appreciation for the support made possible by our club and by E Russell Smith, whose generosity has helped sustain the scholarship program. Oswaldo presented Luz Maria with a gift and a note of gratitude, expressing how much this support has meant to him and his family.
The Los Volcanes Education Program began the scholarship program to provide a lifeline of education to underserved students, ensuring they had the opportunity to not only complete high school but also pursue higher education. Today, the program continues to empower young people to achieve their dreams and create brighter futures, thanks in part to the ongoing partnership and commitment of Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise.
