Ellen Chase Participates in the District 5240 President Elect Retreat
To prepare for her year as President of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise, Ellen Chase attended the District 5240 President Elect Retreat held on September 30. The one-day retreat was attended by 40 incoming presidents and held at the San Luis Obispo County Education Office. The training was led by District Governor Elect Sherry Sim, District Co-Training Officers Chris Baxter and Loretta Butts, and a number of District Past District Governors and staff including DG Marta Brown, PDG Scott Phillips, PDG Savi Bhim, DGN Mike Dutra, Bruce Howard, Kim Fly, Kay Pitts, Jan Phillips, Michele Linney, and special guest speaker from District 5300 and Zone 26 Trainer PDG Luanne Arredondo.
This training prepared presidents elect to lead and motivate their clubs, understand the importance of The Rotary Foundation, reinforce tactics for membership growth and retention, and provide resources to support their efforts. This year of planning before they take office is crucial to achieving the objectives they sets out for their clubs.
