Team Rotary helps organizations do good in our community.

TEAM ROTARY is alive and well. In the last two months, we’ve had three opportunities to get out into the community and help others do good. In September we had four members assist with Girl’s Inc.’s She.Is.Beautiful Run which historically draws over 1,000 participants and this year was no different. People are anxious to get out and do activities after being cooped up for so long. September was also Coastal Cleanup Month and we had some hiking members keeping trash from reaching the sea.

In Early October the Foodbank put out a call for volunteers to help with their annual gala, Table of Life. Don’t know if anyone could help as the notice was rather short in arriving. But we did have two members volunteer for the October 24th Bread & Roses event put on by the Fund for Santa Barbara. The event was attended by hundreds of well-heeled residents and was a good opportunity for RCSBS to show our support.

November kicks off with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, November 6. I am communicating with the organizers to find out what opportunities are available for Sunrisers to help with.

Looking a little further ahead, the SB Foodbank will be conducting an Empty Bowls event in December. Details on what that will look like and how we can help will be forthcoming.

Please find time in your busy schedules to join us on a TEAM ROTARY activity. We need to continue to show our presence in the community to enhance our image and to draw in new members. If you are aware of an activity that meets this goal please let me know.
