Thank you to Burt, Joanne, and Scott for their generosity, and to Tina, Randy, and Janet for the meaningful service.

The Rotary Foundation transforms gifts into projects that improve lives around the world, from providing clean water and promoting peace to supporting education, fighting disease, and eradicating polio. One of the ways Rotary recognizes this generosity is through the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) recognition.

Established in 1957 and named for Rotary founder Paul P. Harris, the Paul Harris Fellow honors individuals who contribute US$1,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation or who have that amount contributed in their name. Members may earn recognition through their own giving to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or approved Foundation grants, or they may choose to honor someone whose service has made a meaningful impact.

At recent club meetings, we were pleased to recognize several members whose generosity reflects Rotary's commitment to Service Above Self.

Burt Chortkoff was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow +5, honoring his continued commitment and significant cumulative support of The Rotary Foundation.

Joanne Schoenfeld chose to celebrate the service of two remarkable individuals by making contributions in their names. She honored Tina Ballue for going above and beyond in coordinating our club's highly successful Bingo Night fundraiser, and Randy Rowse, retiring Mayor of Santa Barbara, in appreciation of his many years of dedicated service to our community.

Scott Burns also used his Foundation recognition points to honor Janet Rowse for her leadership and commitment to SafeLaunch, a nonprofit organization founded by parents who believe protecting young people from early drug use is as urgent as preventing any other childhood disease.

Congratulations to Burt, Joanne, and Scott for their generosity, and to Tina, Randy, and Janet for the meaningful service that inspired these special recognitions.

Every contribution to The Rotary Foundation helps create lasting change locally and around the world. Whether supporting life-changing projects or recognizing someone who exemplifies Rotary's values, Foundation giving is a powerful way to make a lasting impact. We hope these inspiring examples encourage others to consider supporting The Rotary Foundation and honoring those whose service has made a difference.
