ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The discussion will examine how Cottage maintains low healthcare-associated infection rates despite caring for sicker patients than many hospitals. We will also examine issues of multi-drug resistant infections circulating in the Santa Barbara community outside of healthcare settings.

SPEAKER:

David T. Fisk

Dr. David Fisk specializes in Internal Medicine at Sansum Clinic and is the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Cottage Health, as well as the Founder of the hospital's Antibiotic Stewardship Program. He completed medical school at John Hopkins University, followed by his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He joined Sansum Clinic and the Cottage Health medical staff in 2006.
