Liliana Encinas is a part of the Executive Committee of the County's Aware & Prepare Initiative, a public and private partnership, as well as Chair of the County's Public Education Subcommittee. She has been with the City of Santa Barbara for two years as an hourly employee, but has made huge impacts in the Spanish language community. She is a CERT Program Manager, Instructor and State trainer. She is also a Public Information Officer liaison to the Spanish Media for the City's Fire Department. She is currently the Public Education Specialist in the Office of Emergency Services division. She is appreciated by all who work for and with her. Ms. Encinas also has responsibilities for programs such as the Car Seat Program, New Employee Orientation, and translation of public education materials from English to Spanish.
Ms. Encinas is a great asset to the City of Santa Barbara and the Fire Department. The Fire Department is currently looking at making the Public Education Coordinator position full-time so that more emergency and disaster preparedness information can assist in changing the culture of readiness in our diverse community.
