Paying it Forward...or was that backward?

Imagine a world where every inspiration was based upon a famous musician’s utterance. Brian M was inspired by Tim and thus has started the “quote a dead rock star” trend in our club.  Can’t wait to hear what Jimi Hendrix is going to say.

Last week saw the return of the Rotary Minute and by gosh it was a minute. Jeff B shared his family tree and its involvement with Rotary. Quite impressive as his Rotary roots go back to Cro-Mag -ingham where Ogg Buckingham was club President of Clan of the Cave Bear.

Tom joined the President’s club despite having Dr. Quist interrupt. Carl coerced Prez Mel into joining her own club as he sort of joined. Sandy Lee started a dangerous trend in “Paying it forward” by joining the Prez Club for Marti because Laura joined for her.  It’s hard to keep track of who is actually joining.  Paul Ready, in his inimitable fashion, paid it backward by having Lyle join the President’s Club for PFR.  I’m so confused.  Finally somebody with common sense joined Melinda’s club because of general awesomeness and her birthday and that was Susan Dressler.

The program featured Tod (with one D) Nelson from the SLO Hothouse. He is the new CEO or some such title and has great experience in working on start-ups and being super entrepreneurial and innovative and bleeding edge and inspiring and more buzz words.  He introduced us to the myriad of cool companies and projects that are coming out of this endeavor and it was awesome to see the energy and excitement of the start-ups.  They are absolutely going to change San Luis Obispo. They are already able to point to amazing success stories and I think we ain’t seen nothing yet.  I hope someone there can invent a bot to write this bulletin each week; that I would invest in.
