Rotary de Tolosa is committed to climate education and action. We believe that a sustainable future requires both awareness and direct engagement, which is why we host climate speakers, educational programs, and hands-on environmental projects throughout the year.

• 1,000 Trees for SLO – Our flagship environmental initiative aims to plant 1,000 trees across San Luis Obispo, enhancing our urban forest and reducing carbon emissions. This long-term effort improves air quality, increases green space, and fosters a healthier environment for future generations.

•  Community Tree Planting Events – We organize multiple tree planting events every year, engaging local youth, community groups, and volunteers. These events bring the community together to make a direct impact on the environment while educating participants on the importance of sustainability.

• Youth Involvement in Climate Action – We actively involve high school students from Mission Prep, Grizzly Youth Academy, and other local schools in our tree-planting efforts and environmental initiatives. By engaging young people in hands-on sustainability projects, we foster a new generation of climate-conscious leaders.

• Climate Speaker Series – We regularly host expert speakers and educators to discuss climate change, sustainability, and actionable solutions within our community. These events provide valuable knowledge and inspire local action on pressing environmental issues.

•  Rotary’s Global Environmental Commitment – As part of Rotary International’s environmental focus, our club aligns with global initiatives to promote sustainability, conservation, and climate resilience. We work to ensure that our local projects contribute to worldwide efforts in fighting climate change.

By combining education, community involvement, and hands-on projects, we are ensuring that San Luis Obispo remains a greener, healthier, and more sustainable place for future generations.
