RCOW 2018 SUMMER BAND CONCERTS

The 31st season of the RCOW sponsored Ojai Summer Band Concert series held every Wednesday evening from 7 - 9PM at the Libbey Park Bandstand got underway July 11th and will continue through August 15th. Laura Denne conducts the all volunteer band ranging in ages 80 to 14 and organizes the music, rehearsals and performances. The audience from infants to elders enjoy the warm evening, the popcorn, lemonade and balloons as well as the Balloon Parade. Laura introduced a raffle several years ago for audience members to win the chance to conduct the band and it has become as well loved as the Balloon Parade. This free beloved community project is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ojai West whose members set up chairs, music stands, lights, sound system, run the refreshments and balloon sales which support the concerts and then put it all away each night.
