Will deep sea mining help alleviate Chinese control of critical minerals used for green energy?
Mr. David S. Huber has 45 years of offshore oil & gas experience in the Gulf of Mexico and internationally, all with exploration and production companies.
Dave started his career as a subsea drilling engineer at Exxon and went on to co-found two deepwater E&P companies in the Gu;f of Mexico: Mariner Energy, which had a successful IPO on the NYSE, and Deep Gulf Energy, which was sold to Kosmos Energy for $1.25 billion.
He retired in 2017 and currently serves on the board of Ocean Minerals and Neptune Minerals, both deepwater mining companies, Respinnovation a French medical device company and Subsea Infrastructure LLC, an offshore financing company.
In addition, David is a Rotarian with the North Santa Barbara Club.

Rotarian Tony Morris organized a special visit to the Montecito YMCA Day Care Center by author Gail Kvistad and her chihuahua Mojo. Gail read to the students from her recently published, bilingual children's book titled "The Enchanted Tales of Magic Mojo and Gail Good Fairy."
At the conclusion of the reading each student was given their own copy of the book thanks to sponsorship by you, our generous members.

President Sese presents District Governor Mike with the "Face of Rotary" award
District Governor Mike Dutra and his wife Cindy visited our Club for one of the final DG visits of the 2025-26 Rotary Year.
Mike spoke at the regular club session and attended a board meeting immediately after. He encouraged us to create strategic plans that span multiple Rotary years, focus on expanding the brand of our club, and continue efforts to recruit new members.
RYLA Alumnus Jack Hyatt addresses Rotarians at our March 17th meeting
Montecito Union student Jack Hyatt visited the Club to solicit support for a blood cancer drive he is spearheading with his lifelong friend and fellow student Sebastian Fabio. We first met Jack as a recipient of our RYLA scholarship program, and it's exciting to see he has already taken on a leadership role in his community.
