Vocational Meeting

We began our tour in the office with a historical overview by Scott Mather.  The office is full of historical photos, like the 1987 pier fire.  Scott said that the Embarcadero is all made of fill.  Harbor Patrol are not sworn officers and their main duty is safety.  Their area goes from Point Buchon to Point Sal. The navigable portion of the bay is dredge annually to a depth of 20 feet.  The harbor patrol is an enterprise that rents commercial slips and they are city employees.
